Vegetable Stir Fry Recipe
Description:
The Vegetable Stir Fry is a vibrant and colorful dish that showcases an array of fresh vegetables, creating an inviting and appetizing presentation. The deep greens of the broccoli and snap peas contrast beautifully with the bright red, yellow, and green bell peppers, while delicate orange strips of carrot and earthy slices of mushroom round out the composition. The glossy sheen from the soy sauce gives the vegetables a lustrous appearance, and the fine specks of sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions sprinkled on top add a finishing touch of elegance. The medley of colors and textures makes this dish not only appealing to the eye but also enticing to taste.
Ingredients:
- - 2 cups mixed bell peppers (red, yellow, and green), sliced
- - 1 cup broccoli florets
- - 1 cup snap peas, trimmed
- - 1 carrot, julienned
- - 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- - 3 cloves garlic, minced
- - 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- - 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- - 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- - 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
- - Salt and pepper to taste
- - 2 green onions, chopped for garnish
- - Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- 1. Begin by preparing all the vegetables: wash and slice the bell peppers, trim the snap peas, julienne the carrot, and slice the mushrooms. Set aside.
- 2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- 3. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the hot oil, stirring quickly for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 4. Add the sliced bell peppers, broccoli florets, snap peas, carrot, and mushrooms to the skillet. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp.
- 5. Pour the soy sauce and sesame oil over the vegetables, and stir to combine. If desired, add the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce slightly, stirring continuously.
- 6. Season with salt and pepper to taste and continue to stir-fry for another 2 minutes until everything is well-coated and heated through.
- 7. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if using.
- 8. Serve hot, either alone or over steamed rice or noodles.
