Ingredients:

  • - 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • - 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • - 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • - 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • - 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • - 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • - 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • - 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • - 1 cup broccoli florets
  • - 1/2 cup snow peas
  • - 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • - 1 inch ginger, minced
  • - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • - Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • - Cooked rice for serving

Instructions:

  1. 1. In a medium bowl, whisk together teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
  2. 2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until browned. Remove beef from wok and set aside.
  3. 3. Add remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the wok. Add onion, bell peppers, and garlic and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until slightly softened.
  4. 4. Add broccoli and snow peas and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes, or until tender-crisp.
  5. 5. Add the minced ginger and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. 6. Return the beef to the wok. Pour the teriyaki sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients (about 1-2 minutes).
  7. 7. Stir in sesame oil.
  8. 8. Serve the beef teriyaki stir-fry hot over cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds, if desired.
