Sandwich (with egg and meat)

 A small healthy recipe for morning breakfast health benefits.

In today’s fast-paced world, sandwiches are a preferred breakfast option due to their convenience and portability. They can be quickly assembled with various ingredients, offering a satisfying and balanced meal that can be easily eaten on the go, making them ideal for busy mornings.


Ingredients:
* 2 slices of your favorite bread
* 1 tablespoon butter, divided
* 1 egg
* Salt and pepper to taste
* 1 slice of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your preference)
* 2-3 slices of your chosen meat (ham, bacon, sausage, or other)
* Spices for meat (optional):
   * Bacon: Black pepper, paprika
   * Sausage: Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder
   * Ham: Ground mustard, honey, brown sugar


Instructions:


Prepare the meat

Bacon:
   * Place bacon strips in a cold skillet.
   * Sprinkle with a pinch of black pepper and paprika.
   * Turn heat to medium and cook until crisp, turning occasionally.
   * Remove bacon from skillet and drain on paper towels.
 

Sausage:
   * In a small bowl, combine 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon onion powder.
   * Sprinkle the spice mixture over the sausage patties or links.
   * Heat a skillet over medium heat.
   * Add the seasoned sausage and cook according to package instructions, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.


Ham:
   * If using pre-cooked ham, no additional preparation is needed.
   * If using fresh ham:
     * In a small bowl, combine 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard, 1/2 teaspoon honey, and 1/4 teaspoon brown sugar.
     * Brush the ham slices with the glaze.
     * Heat a skillet over medium heat.
     * Add the glazed ham slices and cook until heated through and slightly caramelized.


Cook the egg

   * Heat a small skillet over medium heat.
   * Add ½ tablespoon of butter and let it melt.
   * Crack the egg into the skillet.
   * Season with salt and pepper.
   * Cook until the white is set and the yolk is cooked to your preference


Assemble the sandwich:
   * Lightly butter one side of each bread slice with the remaining butter.
   * Place the cheese slice on one buttered bread slice.
   * Top with the cooked egg and prepared meat slices.
   * Cover with the remaining bread slice, buttered side up.


Cook the sandwich:
* Stovetop:
   * Heat a skillet or pan over medium-low heat.
   * Add the assembled sandwich to the pan.
   * Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
   * Press down gently with a spatula to help the cheese melt evenly.
* Toaster Oven or Panini Press:
   * Preheat the toaster oven or panini press.
   * Place the assembled sandwich in the toaster oven or panini press.
   * Cook until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted.
* Enjoy! Cut the sandwich in half if desired and serve warm.
